Lemons. Lemonade and other tales of turning frowns upside down.

First off, that might be the longest post title I'll ever write.

So, now that the title of this post has been addressed, yes, its been a month to the day since I've written here. Oy. How has time slipped through my fingers so freaking fast? Well, instead of dwelling on the frowns, lets turn them upside down - what's that thing my Mom always said? "When life gives you lemons make lemonade!!".

Well, my life hasn't been frowny or lemony, but it has been FULL of lemonade. Like, every Sunday can't-let-the-day-go-by-without-making-lemonade-full and yours should be too! Here is the recipe I've been using:

First grab 6 lemons and put them in a pretty photo next to a citrus press, and matching yellow colander (or just grab 6 lemons like a normal human).

Grab the pitcher you bought a month ago, and some sugar.

Make simple syrup.

Cut up yo' lemons in half.

Squeeze each half a lemon like they're a loved one that you haven't seen in far too long.

Be amazed at how much lemon juice came out of someone you love that you haven't seen in far too long. "Oh-my-Gosssssssssssssssssh". Then go back to being a normal human and repeat squeezing all the lemons until they're gone.

Add in the simple syrup, and...

Stir and pour into a pretty glass, grab a book and remember how awesome it is to be sitting wherever you are, right. at. that. moment.

Let me know if this made you smile, to replicate it here's the legit recipe:
3/4 Cup Sugar
1 Cup water (for the simple syrup)
6 Lemons squeezed to death (about 1 cup)
3 to 4 cups ice-cold water

-Half 6 lemons and squeeze to death over a pitcher (or you can put it in a bowl and pour it in, whatever is easiest for you)
-For simple syrup: Heat sugar and water in a small saucepan, bring to a light boil until sugar is completely dissolved
-Add the simple syrup to the fresh lemon juice
-Add in water
-Refrigerate for at least a half hour before serving for highest happiness levels (aka smiles)
